Create custom dayparts and daypart codes, and associate them with one or more vendors. You can create as many custom dayparts as needed.
You can view a schedule in the Daypart Code Distribution layout to see how spots are distributed across stations by daypart in the schedule. You cannot add daypart rows to a schedule by using daypart codes.
Standard dayparts and daypart codes are available for system-wide use. The Daypart Codes page shows a complete list of system dayparts. You can modify custom daypart codes or associate them with other vendors.
To define custom dayparts:
1 Open the Daypart Codes tab in Accounts.
• Click the Accounts tab, then click the Vendors link at the top of the page.
• Select the vendor:
– Optionally, search for the name:
+ Click the button in the toolbar.
+ Select columns to search and click OK.
+ Type at least two characters in the search box and click the Search button.
To return to the original list and clear the search, click the Show All Rows link.
– To sort a column, click the column heading. Click again to reverse the order in the same column.
A
black arrow on top means the sort is in ascending order (lowest to highest). A
black arrow on the bottom means the sort is in descending order (highest to lowest).
– Click the name link.
• Click the Daypart Codes tab.
At least one of the elements of a custom daypart must be different from existing dayparts. If you reuse a system daypart code, Tapscan will not overwrite the system's daypart.
2 Type a daypart:
• Scroll to find the blank row at the bottom of the list.
• In the Enter Daypart box, type valid days and times, and then press the Tab key.
Dayparts that cross midnight, combo dayparts and days separated with commas are not allowed.
Valid daypart formatting and examples:
Formatting:
– Use the following for days of week:
M = Monday
Tu = Tuesday
W = Wednesday
Th = Thursday
F = Friday
Sa = Saturday
Su = Sunday
– A = AM, P = PM, N = Noon (12 pm), M = Midnight (12am)
– Use :15, :30, :45 for quarter-hour breaks
– Use hyphens (-) in date ranges
– Do not use commas when separating the days of the week.
Valid format examples:
– Date range: mf 6a10a or M-F6a-10a
– Individual day(s): m 6:30p10:45p or MWF6:00p10:15p
– Ranges and days: m-wf 6a9p or M-WF-Su12n-12m
3 Type a daypart code and then press the Tab key.
Maximum five characters. Daypart codes must be letters or numbers and can include spaces or hyphens, but not any other characters.
4 Type a daypart description, and then press the Tab key.
Maximum 35 characters. Descriptions can include any character from the keyboard except the ~ (tilde) and the | (pipe).
5 Click Save in the toolbar.
The custom daypart is assigned to the current vendor. Optionally, you can assign the custom daypart to other vendors or set it for global use by all vendors. See Related topics... for more information about assigning custom dayparts.
To change custom dayparts or daypart codes:

2 Change daypart details:
• Select and highlight the item or characters to change in a custom daypart row.
• Type the new information and press the Tab key.
A message will remind you that the change will be applied to all assigned accounts.
3 Click the Assign link to change the accounts associated with the custom daypart.

To remove custom dayparts:
You cannot remove a custom daypart if it is associated with a proposal. When you remove a custom daypart, Tapscan deletes it from all accounts.

2 Click the checkbox in the first column before the daypart to remove.
3 Click Delete in the toolbar and OK when prompted.
4 Click Save in the toolbar to keep your changes.
