The Outside report is the fast, easy way to show either the number of listeners or the "bonus" percentage delivered by the TSA or DMA in Spring and Fall surveys.
Definitions
Metro is the primary reporting area for a Nielsen radio survey.
Total Survey Area (TSA) is the area just outside the Metro where there is listening to stations that are home to the Metro. TSA is surveyed only in Spring and Fall.
Designated Market Area (DMA) is Nielsen's geographic definition for a TV market. DMA definitions are also used by Scarborough's qualitative surveys. DMA is only surveyed in Spring and Fall.
TSA and DMA geographic definitions are not available in all markets. TSA and DMA are not measured during the Summer and Winter surveys.
You can view or print PDF versions of each report view.

• Outside graph — a horizontal or vertical bar chart based on the sort estimate and selected stations (see Related topics... below).
• Pop/Intab view provides details about the source used for population, in-tab and any socioeconomic selections.
