Pictures speak louder than words — and there is a time in the sales process when you need to make an instant impact on a customer. The Instant Qualitative Profile (IQP) report is the right report and profiles a market in a graphic representation.
With the IQP report, you get a "presentation in a can" that instantly provides a strong overview of a particular audience. It's the perfect report to use when pitching new business!
Just choose the category that most closely relates to your prospect, and you can show your client data that is useful for their business. Your client will most likely also notice the volume of sophisticated research data that you have at your fingertips — and that makes you a valuable resource for them in the future!
You can view or print PDF versions of each report view. You can also export the report to a comma-delimited .csv file which will look like the table view without formatting.
View samples:
• Instant Qualitative Profile (% view) — the default view, shows estimates of the target audience composition as percentages in pie charts and bar graphs.
• Instant Qualitative Profile table — a vertical grid orientation that shows persons, composition and index estimates for each category.
• Persons view displays estimates in graphs for target persons in thousands (000s).
• Index view shows the likelihood of people who meet the qualitative criteria and the immediate category's criteria as a 3-digit whole number in a pie chart or bar graph.
• Pop/Intab view shows the qualitative population and in-tab. This same information also appears at the bottom of the one-page printed report.
To create an Instant Qualitative Profile report:
1 Select a qualitative survey.
The IQP report requires qualitative data from Scarborough, Scarborough Mid-Tier, RetailDirect or Nielsen Radio Qualitative Diary Service.
2 Select a demo:
• Choose gender and an age range.
• Click checkboxes to change ethnicity settings.
The default is All. Click the All checkbox to clear it and select other ethnicity combinations. If you limit the ethnicity and there aren't enough respondents Tapscan will alert you with a message.
• Optionally, type a name and click Save to keep your selections as a favorite.
• Click OK.
3 Select the target audience:
• Click the QualCategory: Who do you want to look at? link.
You can run the IQP without qualitative and base the report on the demo and geography alone. Use the Run Report Without a WHO or Clear WHO button to remove any selections.
• Create one or more category-question-answer selections to add to the query in the WHO lists in bottom half of the window:
– Select a category in the first column.
Type a keyword in the Search box to filter the category list to specific options.
• Select items from the Category, Question and Answer boxes:
– You can highlight categories, questions, or specific answers.
When you select a single category, all questions and answers associated with that category are automatically displayed in the Questions list. When you select a single question, all answers associated with that question are automatically displayed in the Answers list.
– Click the Add Selections button to add your selections to the selected box.
You can add answers to either list. You can also click the AND/OR toggle link between answers to switch.
• Optionally, type a name and click Save to create a favorite.
The name can contain letters, numbers, or special characters.
• Click OK to save your choices.
4 Optionally, click the QualCategory: Add Custom Selection link and repeat the process in step 3 to select category, question and answer for the WHAT lists.
5 If you don't choose a custom selection, click the edit link if you want to change the graphic/logo at the bottom right.
